Our goal is to promote the Olympic sport of fencing by offering affordable programs open to everyone - from youth to veterans, for both competitive and recreational fencers. San Diego Fencing Center is located in the beautiful, diverse city of Escondido, Calif., about 30 minutes north of downtown San Diego, and is conveniently located off Interstate 15.

Saul and Victoria Mendoza founded San Diego Fencing Center in 2005 to share their passion for the sport with aspiring and experienced fencers of all ages. Saul Mendoza is an Olympic fencer who represented his native Bolivia in the 1984 Summer Games. In 2016, Juan Ignacio Calderon joined the team as co-owner and Head Coach helping to share the SDFC Way.

At SDFC, you will work with a highly qualified and internationally experienced coaching and administrative team. The center features a high-tech sports floor and equipment, with performance and safety in mind. San Diego County is currently in the yellow tier. During this period we follow youth sport guidelines with limited indoor capacity for existing members.
Services
The SDFC Way represents the values and principles we use to run our club.
We have made very clear choices about who we are and how we run our fencing program.
Our doors are open to anybody from small children to any age and level.
But we know we have the biggest impact on helping parents raise their children through this beautiful sport.
We provide an open and inclusive environment focused on learning how to become the best version of yourself.
Although fencing is primarily an individual sport, teamwork is at the core of everything we do.
All our membership packages include unlimited access to Open Fencing at the designated hours.
Group Class packages also include from one to six private lessons a month depending on the option selected.
Here is a couple of basic rules that you comply with as a member of the San Diego Fencing Center:.
You must join and maintain your annual membership with the U.S. Fencing Association.
A U.S. Fencing membership is $10 a fencing season for non-competitive membership and $75 a fencing season for competitive membership.
Please follow our basic rules for scheduling a private lesson with one of our coaches in order to maximize your success.
You must book the appointment in the system or in the SDFC office a minimum of 12 hours before the scheduled lesson.
4. Fencers who are not SDFC members can book a lesson through the calendar as a drop-in for $40.
Non-member fencers also may buy a five-lesson package, valid for three months, at the office.
If your preferred coach is not available, please know that you may book a lesson with any of the other coaches for your weapon.
SDFC coaches are dedicated to promoting the Olympic sport of fencing by developing athletic and critical-thinking skills, including coordination, creative thinking, the use of strategy, and much more.
Such skills carry over into everyday life, helping adults and children maintain a healthy lifestyle and have fun.
We have selected a highly professional and internationally trained team of coaches to meet our goals of educating all SDFC members and helping all levels of fencers excel.
Our coaching and administrative team always has safety and performance in mind.
