We had a small cocker spaniel at the time and wanted a privacy fence so she could enjoy the freedoms of her very first backyard.

My past job history had included a variety of construction related pursuits and I thought to myself, "I can build this - and without breaking the bank."
There was no Home Depot or Lowes at the time, locally owned Hechinger was king.
